Looks like Da-nay, but is pronounced Dan-eye or the word, deny. "What is that?", seems to be the first question people ask after hearing my name, so for those inquisitive minds, it's Greek — like me! I'm Greek, Samoan, German, and English — and like most Greek Samoans out there, I was born in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. Because of my father's career in the aviation industry, I have spent half my life living in different countries, exposing me to a multitude of cultures and artistic styles. As a result of moving so frequently, my interest and love for visual arts, architecture, and design developed at a very young age and influenced my decision to commit to having arts as the basis of my career. An unforeseen benefit of moving so frequently has been the gift of adaptability. Coming home from school and hearing that you'll be moving again in three weeks time was never easy to hear, but since it was all I knew, it was "normal". Mum stopping at the corner store unprompted to let you pick out an ice cream bar or candy was usually a good indicator that something was in the works. Turning on a dime to adjust to new settings, climates, cultures, and people became exciting and welcome. It was perhaps the most extreme, and effective, form of shock therapy you could have given to an introverted and painfully shy little girl. Fast forward some twenty-plus years and I  can't help but talk and connect with people everywhere I go.

I am a creative self-starter and an influential contributor to a team environment, balancing the group dynamic with a natural tendency towards thoughtful leadership. I am always eager and excited for new challenges. I am highly functioning and extremely organized, with an acute attention to detail. My skill set, personal attributes, and passion for art, marketing, and graphics drive me to answer challenges by finding fresh ways to communicate using design. I have grown to understand and appreciate unique cultural differences and influences, which I applied to my studies at the Art Institute and honed in practical application in my career. I apply this understanding by developing alternative viewpoints in communicating marketing messages that appeal across demographics.

Between work hours you may find me baking cakes and experimenting with recipes in the kitchen, taking and editing photos, plane spotting at YVR, building LEGO, or taking long walks around my neighbourhood of Strathcona with my wonderful husband and our 18-year-old pug, Buzz.
